hand brake quesiton
ok, trying seat standers and I'm having a hard time going from clutch to brake. seems my index finger just doesn't want to leave the clutch just wondering how some of you started. Am I jumping the gun by starting off doing seat standers? how far apart should the clutch lever and the brake lever be? I've got the brake below the stock clutch lever. any input is appreciated

I was like that w. mine. It was hard to get use to. Ease up on your death grip. When you clutch it up just slip your finger under straight to the HB.
Just do it right away after you clutch it.
oh...and practice....

stock clutch lever is what i had when i started using the handbrake. Get a shorty clutch lever and it's 1,000,000 times easier to pop it up and grab the handbrake with 2 fingers..index and middle.
Starting off seat stander in the best way to start...in my opinion
OR
12 it up standing stagger...put your left foot sideways on passenger seat...grab the handbrake..then pick up your right foot and go to seat stander.

i started sit downs learing just how much brake i got to use to keep it slow n controlled. always covering the rear brake with my foot just in case.
i have a stock lever set up.. and it works fine. just make sure theres enough room to slip your fingers in between and youll get the hang o f it.

I run my handbrake on top and clutch on bottom. I work the clutch with my middle finger and HB with index finger, oposite of most, but felt good to me. When I pop the clutch I can bring my middle finger right up to the HB, or keep it there and work both at the same time.

What HB kits are you all using... Because from my understanding if you push the handbrake and foot brake at the same time they cancell each other>>>>So how would you use the HB and cover the rear brake at the same time?

Lets say you have pressure on the foot lever, when you start grabbing the HB it'll force the lever back up till it bottoms out then you can let go with your foot pressure and continue with the HB..........

Re: hand brake quesiton
yup. they dont cancel eachother out, just feels funny, still works tho.... best bet is to climb into ss to get used to using it, then just bite the bullet and clutch up ss..... I think i learned by clutching ss at street speeds, where i knew i could engine brake all day long, then switched to the hb to get used to it......
