Rear suspension setup "Wheelies"

What is you suspension set too. I got a friend that rides his real soft. Mine is at the moment really hard cuz I cruise with my wife. Question is how does the softer or stiffer suspension effect wheelies more importantly Highway wheelies.

Re: Rear suspension setup "Wheelies"

Hard=more responsive to throtle
Soft=more forgiving to throttle chops

Try both and determin for yourself. It's nothing that you can learn by reading. Everyone has preferences based on experience. HWY wheelies rock :YEAH

haha.. same here.. just ride it and stop nerding out. Suspension doesnt matter until you reach a certain level.

Put it this way. people that stunt gixxers basically have no rear suspension. Those shitty shocks wear completely out and bounce like an 83 regal within a couple months of parking lot abuse.

Good Point, Not nerding out but My buddies riding a gixxer 1000 and you just made it clear that their suspension is soft from get go. I adjusted mine down 1 notch and have been able to balance it a little better since then. I think I will drop it another notch or 2 and see how it feels.

Blurr thats sounds like good advice and im gonna give it a try. preload set at 2 was what mine was set at from factory according to the manual but I got it from my cousin and my brother and he had been testing out diff suspension settings for dragracing so when i got it it was pretty hard plus it used to walk when my girl was on it with me but i think that was a bad tire.

Re: Rear suspension setup "Wheelies"

Blurr how did you set your damping for 5. My bike has the damping adjuster below the fork and the compression adjuster on the gas cylinder hard and soft and the manual shows adjusting both of them for damping so how would I go about setting it to 5?
