That's funny, the only time my 98 srad 600 starts running on all cylinders is when it's smokin' hot. Is it hot enough to switch your fan on? To guess on an 8 yr old bike on another continent I'd wager the carbs need to be gone through and synchronized. Just my guess though.

i have a 2000 srad gsxr and i had the EXACT same problem. the way i fixed it was put a cam chain tensioner on it. I did it the hard way tho, put the tensioner on when it was out of time, so had to pay $600 to get the cam chanin taken off ad time reset on it.

best advice would be to wait for it to run good. then turn it off, trailor it to a shop and get a CCT. thats the difference between a $120 and 1 hour repair, or a $700 week wait repair.

if you dont believe me just keep running it, and when you start hearin a tapping sound, that the cam chain slappin the crank case. just my two cents

Actually I think your right, the pulse generator on older bikes are notorious for breaking down when hot. If you have a multi meter you can check it pretty easilly. Just get it hot and when it starts to act up test for ac output on each lead to the ecm while running or cranking. I would also check resistance on the plug wires when hot.

Re: gsxr 600 srad problem (i think he's overheating or something)

when i had the problem on my bike i ran all the above tests, i ran every test, used every mode of my multi meter, checked every plug, ever ignitor boot every wire. EVERYTHING listed in the repair manual and nothing fixed it, then finally i got the CCT anyway and it fixed it. Mine woudl only act up when at high RPM usually above 120MPH.

I put the CCT on it and it fixed everything, got the carbs rejetted for the new pipe at the same time and the bike is like brand new.. If you happen to come to the conclusion that your ECU is bad, check ebay, i got one for sale on there. search "SRAD ECU" and im sellin it under Metzzen1. Oh and if you want the repair manual, i have id on cd, i can copy it and send it to you for $1 plus shipping*(prolly less than $1) just pm me
