Re: engine oil

everyone has their prefference... most stunt riders put reg 10w-40 in their stuntbikes... as long as you keep an eye on the level and change it sometimes it'll be fine. Some guys like the expensive stuff... not for me though...

i do run Motul Semi-Syn 5100 in my gsxr 1000 that is a streetbike.

Re: engine oil

Cheep sh*t here too...

all 10-40 is the same no matter what the manufacturers say. M/C oil has no special ingredients or additives.

Just keep the level up (above normal), and change often.

Re: engine oil

Oil? Keep it in your bike, 1/2 to 1 quart more. That's all you need to know.

Re: engine oil

most people think oil is oil is oil, i think the castrol or autozone special is not the same as motorcycle oil, on a bike you're not just lubing the motor, you've got the tranny as well, and much higher rpm's. it may be the same weight but it wont necessarily take a beating.

[QUOTE=Danger_Dave]most people think oil is oil is oil, QUOTE]

That's because oil IS oil. There's nothing special about moto oil. Do some research... it's been discussed over and over.

Re: engine oil

i always used mobil 1 15-50, just tried some shell rotella synth 5-40, bike runs nice. think i'll have to change it out faster though, but 14 bucks for a gallon, much better than 26 for the mobil 1
