Thumbs up Re: the fear

i had the same problem to be honest, u just needa grow some ***** and clutch it up...i found it easire if i focused in on a target ex. stop sign, tree, etc. pull that ***** up, lean back so u dont look a flyin squirl, and ride it out its not gonna flip back inless u make it do that, cover the rear brake and go...thats my best advice for ya...goodluck remeber, if u dont do it on the first try keep trying, theres always another wheelie :YEAH

Re: the fear

Advice from me on this is probably pointless since I am a stunting rookie but for me the stand up wheelies are more comfortable than sit down's. Just keep the foot on the rear brake and use if you feel you have to bring your self back down. A few times I went up to standing and didn't cover the rear brake and well.....loop action baby!
All the guys that have helped me out say use the brake to control the wheelie not the throttle. Maintain a constant throttle or idle it up.

Find a comfort point for learning the stand ups (for your left leg). I use the rear peg (I found it easier to balance), others may use the front peg or even a 12 bar if you have one. And then there are those that use everything and anything for wheelies...only in my dreams for now.

Like I said I am a rookie....this is just my 2 cents.

Re: the fear

Do it in second , thats what ive been doing , only because in first my bike comes up crazy fast standing and the throttle is real twitchy , in second it feels a lot smoother.

Re: the fear

Getting rid of the fear is just something that comes once you have done it a few times. Falling off isn't all that bad (provide you don't break anything) sprains and road rash heal easy.

Re: the fear

I've actually been practicing staggered. They felt weird as hell trying it with both feet on the front pegs...so I threw my left leg back. Now getting them up is no problem, it's keeping my ***** from screaming and running once I get it pointed up that's my problem, lol. I'm also practicing using the rear brake a lot more, instead of a once in a while thing. I just do a sitdown like normal...and instead of letting off the gas to drop it down, I tap the rear brake.
