Best video camera

Re: Best video camera
Samsung or Sony... look for a camera with interchangable lenses or lenses you can add on. (like a fisheye) Look for cameras with 12 bit and 16 bit sound options so you can do dubbing with sound from the tape and music if you want. Also, look for cameras WITH NIGHT PIX OR NIGHT VISION. Those have a higher resolution and for the obvious reason, you can do Paris Hiltion type $hit!! hahaah. But no, its for the night shots when the sun goes down. Some night vision shots are pimp. Look to spend around $400-$600 for a good camera. 1 last thing, get a camera that does MiniDV tape b/c then its a digital tape!!! Have fun

If you want to spend thousands go for a top of the line cannon, otherwise definitely get a Sony. Best features for the money and excellent low light capabilities. I would go Sony mini-DV. A lot of camcorders suck in anything less than perfect lighting, Sony's work very well filming in low light situations, a big plus.

Re: Best video camera
My JVC mini dv does an awsome job it was aboout 450$ little problem with hi speed shots until you get used to holding it. Very good at dusk also. Not saying JVC is a good brand just speaking form experience with them. It takes abuse dropped off of my banshee at about 30 mph didn't brake just alittle scatched up

Keeth, who said anything about making a dvd.
You can get lenses for any decent camera.
Get a camera with good low light capabilities, NOT night vision (unless you like green video)
Sony has the least amount of features for the money.
Get a mini dv camera, not a dvd camera.
Research on camcorderinfo.com before buying.
It depends on your price range as to what is the best camera. IMO...
For about $500 the best camera is the panasonic gs150,
For about $800 the best camera is the pana gs 250,
For about $1200 the best camera is the pana gs 400,
For around $1800 the best camera is either the sony hc1 or canon gl2
