04 Gixxer 600 subframe

I just recently got this back from the welder and put it on the bike. feels pretty strong. I didn't get pre-install pics of it but the plating that is on the side is a little more than 1/4 inch thick and the piece that runs between the passenger peg mounts is definitely 1/4" thick also.

anyone got comments?

Re: 04 Gixxer 600 subframe

it's just for caution. Ed1000 from LegionST has a 750 and said that the subrame was damaged on a little scrape he did.

Re: 04 Gixxer 600 subframe

ya thats why the bar hasn't gone on yet i'd rather tear up the tail than rip the back half of my bike off.

I'm not sure that will help much. Maybe a little bit but those subs are brittle

Re: 04 Gixxer 600 subframe

well, without getting a custom 'frame fabbed up it's gonna have to work. I'll give it a try when the 12bar gets in

Re: 04 Gixxer 600 subframe

I did something similar, it's in a post somewhere on here, but mine still broke again, i just did the same thing again. Those subframe suck giant *****, but I really like the bike so I'll just have to live with getting it welded every once in a while

I have to get the left side pass peg mount welded back on this week, I'll see if he can do it all at once, thanks for the advice.

take 1"x1/4" flat stock from home depot or lowes and cut i in the the length to go from one of the passanger peg bolts to the rear set bolt. BAM got a stronger subframe . still no bullet proof though. EASY ON THE BREAK PLAYER

Re: 04 Gixxer 600 subframe

mine was just like that. I cost me about 100 bucks for the work that I've had done. it's way worth it because that thing would be tin foil if I didn't. it gets a lot better when you have the metal welded on for the peg bending, I know mine did.
