brake bleed prob

Hey guys, yall havent failed me yet, so here is another question..

Trying to bleed the brakes on a buddys gixxer, but im not gaining any pressure.

Only fluid is comeing out the bleeders, but Ive nocticed that after a few times of the old sqeeze-hold-squirt, a little bit of air can be sqeezed out of the hose that runs from the MC to the handbrake lever.

Is this normal? What am I doing wrong??

Thanks guys!!!

Bleed the system from master cyclinder back. Pump and hold then bleed from the banjo fitting on the master cyclinder. Once NO air is coming out from there, then move down to the bleeder screw on the calipers and bleed from there. If done correctly all your air should be out of the system....

If there is still a problem with air in the system or a smushy brake feel then check into the master cyclinder being bad.

Re: brake bleed prob

i do have a ? on this do you have to do both sides the same amount of times or does it really matter? Can you do the left 7 times and the right 4 times? i never did my even but there is no air in either side i just made sure all the air was out of both sides so is this good enough or did i **** up? :YEAH

Re: brake bleed prob

No it doesn't matter how many times you bleed each side. All you are doing is moving brake fluid from the master cylinder down the lines to the bleeder screw then out.

Re: brake bleed prob

What I did is i took the banjo bolt off the hb front master and put my finger over the hole and pumped the lever till it passed fluid by finger over the hole..Then i put the banjo bolt back and i and used a vacuum bleeder i got from checkers to pump the fluid out the back bleed nose by the rear brake..

Re: brake bleed prob

Front brakes.

I did the sqeeze-hold-bleed thing about 13 times per side....still no damn pressure..

Ill try from the Mc..I knew there was something I was supposed to bleed, but sinceI didnt see a bleed valve, I just shrugged it off...now I know, the Banjo fitting!

Thanks guys!
