TL1000R riders....

Ok... So i got my TL a few weeks ago.. and i love it... But heres my problem.... the SOB wont do a stoppie..... When i had my 636....it was simple.... And on my buddies 600RR.... no problem.... I know that the TL weighs a bit more... but damn..... i mena the front tire just slides... doesnt matter the quality of the pavment... it just slides.... Every now and then.. it will actually grab and let me bring the back a little bit off the ground... Any suggestions??

Re: TL1000R riders....

by the way, check tlplanet.com, it has all the TL info there.

TL's are pretty tail heavy bikes, Two exhaust cans and rear cylinder, so it's rear biased. But it's possible to stoppie TL's too. You need to use your body little bit more. Brake and give littel tug with your legs against the tank. That way I got my TLS to endo. but it's way more difficult then newer sport bikes

Yeah I am pretty sure atleast one of the d-aces guys used to ride one and I know they do stoppies..... just do it!!!!! you can always drop tire pressure a little bit. like 5 or 6 psi......And make sure you arent runnning a d207.......worst front tire ever

Re: TL1000R riders....

I have a similar bike, the k3 SV1000s. It was very hard to get a stoppie out of it. I had the front suspension stiffened up a little, rebound and damping adjusted and now its easy. Also look at the front tyre you are using. Cheap hard compound wont help much.

Re: TL1000R riders....

My Sv1000 would not do a stoppie with the stock pilot sport in the front, I am running pirelli's now and it is fine the only time the tire ever locks up and slides is in an intersection with slick pavement.
