Jerky throttle response

Ive got a 96 900RR. Ive been trying to slow my wheelies down and have been having a problem with a jerky throttle. I bring the bike up with very little clutch and very little gas, and when i let off the throttle some the bike jerks hard. Kinda like a loose throttle cable, but mine are toight like a tiger. Ive heard a k&n filter will make your bike jerky. Im down one in the front as well.

Any tips on how to smooth throttle response?

Re: Jerky throttle response

for me I raise the idle up to about 3000 and then after I learned throttle control I started bringing it back down. I assume you learn rear brake.

Yea, Ive learned rear brake. **** is just choppy as hell coming on and off the throttle in first and second gear.

Choppy to the point that if i come off the throttle at my balance point, coming back on the throttle wants to throw you off the bike.

Re: Jerky throttle response

Raise your idle 3000-3500 like dizzy said it will help out alot by making you not have to play with the throttle really and just play wit your balance
