Newbie Questions
Hi guys, i have a few questions as i am a bike newbie, any input is greatly appreciated.
I have never had a sport bike/bike at all but i am dead set on getting one this up coming spring, I am pretty set on getting a 600, something like a zx6/f4/f3 or such, nothing new, something used and reasonable for a new bike.
I have posted on other forums(not stunt forums) and people seem to not like the idea of starting on a 600, but i am pretty set on that, im around 6'1 190-200 ish, i dont plan on going full throttle day one.
I really enjoy the thrill of watching videos of stunting and watching/seeing locals ride, i think it is such a great thing, and i plan on getting into this(slowly but surely).
So since i want a bike that is nice and able to stunt(if there is such a thing), should i get a crash cage/sliders on? I dont plan on dropping bike but i do know since im new to this and even if i wasnt, im bound to go down, so should i get the cage/sliders?
anyones is greatly wanted, thanks.

Re: Newbie Questions
sliders are there for looks in my opinion... you drop your bike hard enough they will snap off an they will serv as nothing as it keeps sliding down the street... a cage it can take lots of hits drops and so forth... only bad thing on cages are. you will lose the ability to cut corners an could scrape... but if you plan on stuntin anytime in the future... i would go with a cage.. cause you will start to do wheelies an so forth untill you drop it lol... just get a cage its better in the long run an will pay for its self when you drop the bike a few times

Re: Newbie Questions
Yeah i figuered its better to just pay the 200-300$ for a cage and save on what you might have to pay if you drop the bike an screw up all the fairings etc.
Thanks for the post!

Im 18 right now, but besides being young i dont plan on doing what most kids want to do in tearing up the streets with no regards for anything, thats just stupid. I just really enjoy watching stunt videos and watching what you guys do.

Re: Newbie Questions
most stunts here are taken out of proportion man.. they all elite and experienced riders who overcame most of their fears on the bike of course with a natural talent or grown skill over the years.
600 sounds ok, you just need to control yourself the first months to gain experience ( and a clair eye on what's going on besides you- anticipate things )

The problem with starting on a 600 is when ur comfortable wit riding and everything you are goin to want that more power bike and end up trading it in... u should deff start wit a 750 or higher bike so u wont have to trade it in.... and never get a new bike for your first bike!

I think he should get a new bike ..definatly ..
You gotta insure it though. Just take it slow and try to challenge yourself from time to time to try something different ( in curves, on the road,... )
and if you wanne stunt and got the money buy a wrecked bike and clean it up a little or get a 50 pittbike.
