fork question

yo when your forks get twisted and they are twisted in the triple clamps you just loosen the 4 bolts - 2 on the uper and 2 on the lower clamps hold the wheel and twist them back right? or do you have to loosen the neck stem bolt. i dont see why you would have to but do you?

Re: fork question

Do the axle pinch bolts on one fork, the lower triple bolts on the opposite fork, and the top clamp bolts on the same side as the axle bolts. Loosen all those and it should spring back to just about where it needs to be.

Re: fork question

I dont loosen anything. I go press the side of the front wheel against a tree or a wall and then I push on the bars untill the forks are straight again.

Re: fork question

just loosen one of the triple clamps, either one will work, usually its cuz the lower triple is bent

Shouldn't matter. Just do the side you normally loosen to take the wheel off.

Re: fork question

For the most part they'll go about where they need to be. If not completely you just have to hold the bars and kick the tire.

Re: fork question

yeah, the last 2 bikes i had the lower triples bent when the forks bent. my f4i was tweaked so bad that you couldnt straighten them by twisting, so i had to buy a new one. if the forks and triples are all straight, you should just slide the forks in and tighten them and the front end will be straight, if you have to twist the frontend, something is tweaked
