01-02 F4i's different from 03+

obviesly the tail is different but is there any other differences..ex. PERFORMANCE. second question would the 01-02 tail(subframe) bolt right up

01-03 are the same. its the 04' with a different seat. the only difference is in the tail section, otherwise its the same bike. all they did is use the tail off the f4 and add a grab handle

its the SAME bike. and yes the sub will bolt up from other years. check part #'s and youll see, same thing

How about the oppposite of this. Could you bolt an 01, 02 F4i tail up to a '99 or '00 F4???

YES!!! THEYRE THE SAME BIKES!!!!!!!!!! 99-05,

99-00/01-05, different countershafts, clutch part #'s, clutch baskets, Subframe, radiator (part# but it will work), motor, tank, seats, wiring harnesses, upper, front wheels, rear wheels, sprockets, cushdrive, front rotors, axels

Thats all I can think of atm. Not the same bike. Frames/subframes cross-over, but its not like a Gixxer 600/750. There are WAY more differences than you can see at a glance.

by tail i meant everything connected to it, exhaust is diff,rear pegs, etc, but essentially most everything will swap

yeah, you can rig most stuff up if you're halfway decent with fabricating. But there are plenty of "little" differences. I dont understand Hondas reasoning for them either.
