Wheelies fading right???????? HELP

Hey all, i have a quetion about my wheelie problem.. Well i can do wheelies fine (as in getting them up) but in second gear while riding one (at a good height or close to the balance point) i tend to fade right, so i cant ride it as long as i would like to i have to set it down to keep from going on the sholder, when i can get it to go stright i can ride it forever thew 2nd and most threw 3rd. but what am i doing wrong or what should i do to keep it from going right, i tried steering it in the air, by leaning exc and nothing works. im riding a 05 R6, with 3k miles on it.

That's your problem right there. All bikes do this once they turn 3K.

i have got the same problem on my 01 gsxr. At day before yesterday i let some airpressure out of the tire and it fixed it form drifting right. yesterday i decided to let alittle more out and it has been garbage ever since. And i didn;t see how much pressure was in it when it was right so now i can find the right pressure.

unevenly worn tires, sloped roads, habit of pulling hard on the left clip on or pushing on right peg subconsciously... just a couple of the top of my head...

check the chain tensioners on the back wheel to make sure they're lined up properly. Pull one up, if it goes to the right set it down, then put a little more pressure on the left peg and pull it up again and keep doing it. Even if something is off you should still be able to counter it with your body.

Re: Wheelies fading right???????? HELP

all good tips. the moral of the story is, bike set up: important! Practice about a thousand times more important! once you practice enough to change lanes, and even make some cornrers, correcting a little drift to the right, for what ever reason its drifting, will be like walking and talking, just another reflex. once you master the basics, the world will open to you. Until you master the basics, practice practice practice!

Re: Wheelies fading right???????? HELP

ive been having somewhat similar problems up at BP in 2nd or 1st..lowered my tire pressure to about 25psi helped a little but still get that drift sometimes. You say put pressure on the rear left peg and position your body to the right?? why not hang off the left side as well...thats what ive been doing to try to force the bike back away from the shoulder. Only problem with that is it ****s up my foot position on the rear brake and makes me feel very awkward trying to keep my foot over it just in case.

Re: Wheelies fading right???????? HELP

my bike has also been doin the same thing. What it was we beleive was the rear brake sticking. Clean ur rim off and ride without doin any wheelies. If there is alot of brake dust, it may be the caliper..
