Do you mean normal street riding or just sitting there in traffic? If I'm rolling down the road my temp is between 180-190. Hot days sitting in traffic it goes a little over 200.

on a hot day not moving 200-225 moving 180-190 and when doing rolling burnouts 250+ i felt this was hot so i changed to engine ice and it is still the same and after 23k of that it spit the#2 spark plug out

Re: 954 Q for owners..
Mine heats up quick. On the streets it usually runs around 190-200 depending on my speed. At every stop light it jumps up to 215-220. On the freeway it cools to 180-185. I was concerned when I first got the bike. Switched to Engine Ice and it didn't really affect anything (made me feel a little better knowing there was fresh coolant though).
My question is why is it getting so hot? I thought about heat wrapping the headers to keep the radiator and everything cooler. Never did it because I was told high performance engines are suppose to run hot. Opinions?

Re: 954 Q for owners..
Your fine. Don't even sweat it. If you want to lower the engine temp buy exhaust wrap and wrap your headers. However, that's pretty normal. Oil vescosity doesn't break down until 235+ full synthetic oil doesn't break down until 250 or 260. If your bike gets up that high something is really wrong and the temp gauge will blink on and off. We've had 100+ degree days here lately and mines been up to about 225 at times. Nothing to worry about.
