2nd Gear wheelies

I need help in doing 2nd gear wheelies on a 91 F2, I don't know what I'm doing wrong but it may be just fear of fallin ova but like when I try to clutch it up the highest it'll get is like maybe a foot do I need to be standing and more throttle or what help, if you live in the Balto, MD area I'd be glad to meet up with ya.

Re: 2nd Gear wheelies

on my f2, I would always stand, going about 35, slip the clutch and rev its nuts off, then let the clutch back out. the trick is to be giving plenty of throttle when you let the clutch out.

Re: 2nd Gear wheelies

I stand and bonce, but havent gotten it up more than a foot either. Heres what makes it hard. For second gear, you have to rev it higher when slipping it, this means you have to slip the clutch longer. Thats what makes it incredibly difficult to time the bounce right. Someone help me out with this.

Re: 2nd Gear wheelies

well i got an 05 R6 and im working on 1 and 2 gear clutch ups... of course 1st gear comes up with very low revs and slip

1st gear i can get it up consistently but its so sensitive im having a hard time finding the BP so im trying in 2nd gear since its less sensitive and has more rpms to work with before i redline

but with 2nd going around 40-50 i need to rev to i THINK around 10k maybe more to get it up and it comes up smoothly even though the bike sounds like it will jump up cuz its reving so high scary...

Re: 2nd Gear wheelies

Im just worried that second will surprise me and snap up when I finally get it right. Will this not happen??? I like to bounce because then you need less throttle. I dont have any brake reflex, and I havent clutched first since I looped that way. I bounce first a lot, thats helped me a ton with throttle control, but it revs out too fast. I want to clutch second bcause it will come up slower and smoother. Do you think second is a bad idea or me?

Re: 2nd Gear wheelies

So, when you clutch 2nd on a 600, do you slip the clutch longer to get the revs higher, or do you slip it the same as first and just mash on the gas to get the revs up?????

Re: 2nd Gear wheelies

if your just learning 2nd gear stand ups id say try bouncing them up first this way u get used to it comming up a little slower....once uve got it then try the clutch cause its gonna come up alot faster, just make sure u cover the back brake so ya dont loop it youll get it....id say id show ya bro since i live in delaware but im never around much right now, i got a place at the beach for the summer

Re: 2nd Gear wheelies

Start off leaning back and dumping it more and more each time. Keep your foot on the brake and be ready for the bike to come up. You'll feel it, It'll take you a few times to get use to staying on the gas onces it comes up. Be ready to lean forward and keep the clutch and brake covered.

Re: 2nd Gear wheelies

Dude trust me on this, 600s can be bounced up here but its very difficult with stock gearing, -1 +2 its a little easier.

Bounce it and slip the clutch, it takes almost full throttle on my 636 when I slip it and bounce 2nd to get it up and its still like a damn power wheelie comes up slow as hell, I haven't tried one since the bike has been fully broken in though.

Re: 2nd Gear wheelies

I probably have to be at like 10k to bounce 2nd huh? I want to be able to bring it up around 35. Ill just keep workin on clutching it. By the way, sit downs are stupid. First gear rarely comes up, maybe im not gassin it enough, but im just gonna stick with standups way easier!
