Soooo... what if you run a tire backwards???
Put on a "new to me" tire on the back today. I told NEP to make sure he was mounting it the right direction but when i got home i glanced on at it and noticed the tire is on the rim backwards. This tire is prolly only gonna last me a week or two but what will happen if i just leave it backwards? Its not gonna like explode on me or something will it?

It'll be fine. I've done it on accident before and you cant tell any difference. I've also seen guys switch them around when they wear out one side from circles.

well it depends if you're just gonna stunt on it you'll be fine, wouldn't rid it hard though. The belts inside are oriented in certain ways to support the tire and there obviously going to be opposite of the way they were designed.

i can't see that it would make any difference, even with hard riding. The main force on the tire is the centrifugal force, and braking and exelerating are about the same, in opposite directions.

Its gonna overheat from the tread blocks being stretched the wrong way. They get combustive from that. One day when you're doing a wheelie the whole tire will burst into flames. Be sure to run propper tire pressure.
