MXD cage ?

Just got the mxd cage in a little bit ago getting ready to bolt it up. Its for my f4i. Has anyone got one and used all the washers? The main bolt where the sliders are came with 7 washers and the other came with quite a bit more? Did anyone use all the washers, if so where?

Re: MXD cage ?

I cant remember how many I used, but I know there werent 7!!

I used washers on the lower mount, by the headers. Maybe one on each side of each motor mount and definately one on each side of the subframe mounts.

Re: MXD cage ?

since there's so many washers, i'm guessing that they are meant to go between the cage and the frame, in the depression where the bolt head normally goes. If they fit right, this would keep the cage from sliding back and bending the motor mount bolt.

Re: MXD cage ?

there were 7 exactly on each of the motor mount bolts and like 12 or so on the subframe bolt. 4 for the bolt that connects the two sides of the cage. f4rider I went with the same instict that you have in mind and used them in between the cage and frame and yes they were correct to make them sit flush so I'm assuming thats what they were for. Anyways its on now, still naked not sure if i'm gonna grab the holesaw and cut the plastic or just leave it the way it is. Anyways drop tested it and everything went well... Its raining every other 5 minutes here so maybe I'll get to a lot tonight and see if I can wreck good. Nothing special at the slow stuff right now so I'm sure something will happen to test the cage.

Re: MXD cage ?

hey jeff that was another question I was going to ask? was there supposed to be directions? I just had the invoice inside the box from paypal along with the bag with the bolts and the two sides of the cage. directions would've answered that question I guess but yea there weren't any. No problem or anything still love the cage.
