Slowing down vs. stalling

i got to the point today where i was slowing down my slow wheelies. and i was gettin em pretty slow too. but my question is with how slow can you get em to where it wants to stall?? my bike is carburated and everynow and then when i start slowing down, it will bogg and come down but not stall cuase the tire just comes down softly. i was just wondering if this is happening becuase im slowing down and im at that point or if its a carburated issue

Re: Slowing down vs. stalling

you can slow down to like 3 or 400 rpms before it stalls. Slip the clutch when you think you will stall.

Re: Slowing down vs. stalling

I run my idle around 2500-2800 an ride it no problem.. I've got a vid that shows the bike Actually Stopping, and when it did this i pulled the clutch in to keep it from stalling.

Re: Slowing down vs. stalling

f4's are good enough for everything except endos (i don't know about bar tricks, never tried them). I'm still trying to figure out how to keep it from filling up the airbox with gas when i do endos

Re: Slowing down vs. stalling

when you say it can handle 3-400 before it stalls, what do you have your idle at? i just went and checked it out and i can get mine down right around 1500 but im riding with my idle at 3k

and my endos suck and im not in a hurry to go get any better so im not really worried about that

Re: Slowing down vs. stalling

i have my idle set at 3500. Something's wrong with your bike if it stalls at 1500rpms

Re: Slowing down vs. stalling

it doesnt stall, just every now and then it will bogg and come down, but thats probubly like 1 out of 25 times. the only times ive had it stall were on the bar.

i was just curious how much further i can slow it down to where it should stall out rather than it be a carburation issue every now and then

Re: Slowing down vs. stalling

If your gearing's big enough you can go like 1 or 2 mph without slipping the clutch.

yep; that's why it shuts off. One of my ram air ducts fell off awhile back. Since then i did a little endo session and gas was running out of the air box at that spot. The carbs are pointed forward while on 2 wheels, so during a high endo they must be nearly up-side-down. I'm thinking i will try putting a shut off valve on the gas line that i can easily turn off right before pulling the clutch and grabbing the brake.
