Broken frame tabs. How to fix??
This is a 2000 R1 stunter. One of the tabs that mounts the top of the rear shock is broken pertty badly. (the tab on the left in the pics is still mint)This happened when we were putting the bike back together. We forgot a spacer when installing the shock. Without the spacer, tightening the bolt down pinched the two tabs together, and bent the one side. We pryed it open enough to get the shock out, and the force in the left/right direction weakened the aluminum and left it like this.
How can this be fixed?? A weld is the quick solution, but there is alot of weight on these tabs as its the only connection between the rear end and the frame. We were thinking of having the tab cut off, a new one machined and then welded on. But then again, your left with a weld holding on this tab. Any help is appreciated.

If anyone thinks I screwed this guy, read here. I'm an honest guy and wouldn't screw anyone online. Especially a stunter/motorcyclist.
