Bigger sprockets for my Ghetto wheelies
My wheelies are GARBAGE! I suck.. Well now that that's out in the open.. I know I need to practice and I'll get better, but would a bigger sprocket help? Some dude is willing to sell me 59 tooth pretty reasonable.. Is it worth it, or am I better off stock? Stock is like 46 tooth I think..

My advice, if your bringing them up consistantly and making progress then stay with what you have on there now. Any change you make is going to be something your gonna have to get used to all over again. Especially if you have the dreaded throttle chopping desease, in which case you probably don't want the bike to come up faster than it already is.

The problem is not it's not coming up.. It comes up fine, I just get scared when it jumps up.. I just wanted to know if it would make it smoother... Plus I figured if I would need it later I may as well buy it now

Re: Bigger sprockets for my Ghetto wheelies
I have to agree with Kungfu here....when I changed from stock to more aggressive gearing (-1 +5) it took about 2 full weeks to get use to my bike again and it came up WAY faster than stock. If you don't like the way she jumps up at you now....you're gonna hate the new sprocket. I'd get your wheelies on lock and smooth with the stock setup before ordering a pizza! Just my The larger sprocket will magnify any jerky throttle response you may have. Try to keep that wrist locked in one spot like it has a cast on it. My throttle movements are more like gentle squeezing....not twisting. Hope this helps...and keep it on one wheel playa.

Re: Bigger sprockets for my Ghetto wheelies
leave your **** stock.... the best advice is practice. and time.
it must have taken me 2 months to learn how to balance a wheelie. but here i am now and i can almost do no handers and im working on coasters and 12's.
so just go out and practice in an empty lot or a road that no one is on.
good luck mang
edit: p.s. dont try and practice in front of your friends, it will only make you wreck more... ive seen it happen

definately stick with stock... if its a good deal on the sprocket then buy it and use it later, but stock is as smooth as its gonna get for learning.
