you're gonna need something to rest your forks on after
get a mate to lean the bike on it's stand, so that the front wheel's in the air - release the two pinch bolts at the bottom of each fork - release one/both of the calipers.
release the axle nut
remove the caliper, and slide the axle out
that's it

That is a scary way to do things, wow I wonder why I never thought of that. Prolly cause I have a front stand. Good to know in case of emergency though,,neato.
If you do things that way just be care for what you rest those forks on.
