Motors do blow though, and I highly doubt it was the pickup. Maybe you missed a screw, got a small leak and hit some major highway standy's?

I messed up my gixxer trying to slow down in second on the highway, but it didn't blow then, it blew around two weeks later riding home from NYC.

Good luck man

Re: F4i blew-up... ?!?!

I guess we never updated this. Spencer brought the bike over and we put a new motor in it. Pulled the head off of the other motor and found it was because of rod failure. The bearing was laying inside of the bottom case and was not spun. The bearing looked mint other than it being tossed around in the motor with a broken rod before throwing most of it through the front of the block.

Re: F4i blew-up... ?!?!

Re: F4i blew-up... ?!?!

Nope, the small end was ok as well. The rod just broke. It could have been from the engine being hydrolocked earlier that day. It wasnt due to oil starvation though. I looked at the bearings on both ends and they were not worn, burned or scored. I have seen my fair share of spun bearings and know what one looks like.

stuntex emails: I need to take ryans email off of the site. He doesnt even know how to check his email and I dont have time to show him. I work 60+ hours a week managing 50+ servers and over 600 workstations which makes it hell to check and reply to every email I get. I try. I dont make any money from it so I dont have alot of motivation.

lol the added weight caused too much stress on the motor.

my motor blew becuase it SEMI-hydro locked probally about 2 weeks prior to it blowing. then after about the 2nd mile on one wheel at like 10K rpm's it snapped.

Re: F4i blew-up... ?!?!

did the same to mine last night i'll post pics tomorrow.... flipped the bike over landed on the handle bars and tail (completely upside down)
I have a kill switch so the bike stopped running...turned it back over let it sit went to start it and booom like a small gun the rod flew threw the back of the motor causing an expolssion of oil....sooo pissed off!!!

oh well the motor swap begins tonight...is it hard???

I have done one before by myself on a 99 r6...never anything else though???

wish me luck!
