Just got a 98 r1 and there is no title wanted to check and see if there was a way anyone could have the vin ran to see if it was stolen???? I called my local police dept and they wouldnt help me.

the VIN is

call police stations nearby, anyone of them can do it, just depends on whether theyre in a good mood or not. just say its for a bike you might buy and dont give them any other info...good luck, hope it really isnt stolen.
