stator cover leaking oil.... (Stripped screw)

Just installed new stator and cover.... But one bolt that secures the stator cover must be stripped, the screw will not tighten.... What options do I have to fix this problem... It is leaking oil a little right now... Can I just instal a larger diameter screw.... Please help

try to re thread the hole first, if you get bite the there u go, you can also try to double up gaskets, or use gasket seal, last option is to put a larger screw in. most engine cases dont allow much room for a larger diameter bolt, hope this helps

3 cures.
1. drill, retap for next size bolt
2. drill , put in TIMESERT (no junk heli-coil)
3. fill hole with JB WELD/SIMILAR and drill - retap
good luck

I just let mine leak, saves me from having to change the oil, Just put more in, lol.

Drill out and retap, is your best bet. Screw JB Weld, it sucks

well depending on which bolt it is, if it has an opening in the back, put a smaller bolt with a nut on there and call it a day.
