520 chain size for conversion?

04 R6 ,I went -1 +2 (15/50) with my sprockets and I need to get a 520 chain for it. Anyone have a clue if I need a 110 or 120 link chain for it? Or maybe where I could find out. Thanks

a 110 should fit......... -1 +2 should stay about the same length as stock. If you have to........ count your links on your factory chain, and add 1.

Just fer the record I went with the 120 to be safe, I took off one link. I'm not too happy about the results, what I gained on the bottom doesnt really equal wat I lost on the top.

brandon, where you gonna ride? what is your top end now? i wouldn't think your top end would matter too much around SD? i used to have the R6 and always wondered what it would do 15/50?

Well I can power wheelie in second which I couldnt do before. My speedo is off now, not sure how far but I'll be on the freeway and it says 100, which feels about like 85-90 and I'm at like 9500rpm. Kinda high for my liking. I'm going to order a 48 rear and try it with just -1 in the front and see if I like it better.

stock i could get a few roll ons in 2nd but i had to be jumping on the pegs. you talking 6th gear 9.5k? i'd say that bike just starts to run at 8-9k. would you say that's pretty true? i wouldn't worry unless you're trying to run like 13-14k non-stop freeway.

Re: 520 chain size for conversion?

Stock I could ride the freeway in 4th if I was only doing 70, I didnt even usually go into 6th unless I wanted to go 85+. Now I find myself trying to upshift and Im already in 6th I really need to put my new tires on because the back has been slipping pretty bad so I cant really determine how much better the bottom end might be.
