Dents in the rims

I was rdidng the other night and hit a pot hole. It put a dent o the right side of both rims. The dent on the front rim is about 3 inches long and sticks out about half an inch. the back rim is about 2 inches and sticks out 1/2 an inch. can it be fixed or am i screwed. They are on my 929.

yes they can be fixed, my buddy looped his bike doing a wheelie and rolled his rim back till it was touching its self and managed to find a shop in town to fix it for 50$

good luck finding someone who will touch an aluminum rim.
But yeah, i've fixed multiple dents by putting the rim (with the tire still on) in a verticle hydrolic press horizontally. Then press the dent in. It wont bend it back exactly the way it was before, but it will hold the bead. Also, this will bend it in a slightly different spot, so it will still be plenty strong. Don't heat up cast aluminum when you bend it. I've been told by multiple people, including an old school blacksmith, that heating cast aluminum changes its properties and weakens it.
