stuntex oil pickup??

Re: stuntex oil pickup??
Just picked mine up and installed it last night. Got it out to the lot tonight and let me tell you it feels like a different bike when I get it back on one wheel. Super smooth and a lot more predictable. I don't think I'll ever run a GSX-R without one again. Proly one of the best mods after a cage I did to my bike. Thanks guys you rock!

ok a friend told me (hahaha) the standard oil pickup looks like the one on an f2. what everybody does here with their f2 pickup is simply reverse it and grind away the bit of the engine thats in teh way..

Re: stuntex oil pickup??
hey fella's... the one thing i just remembered, was the half circle cutout on the flat piece of metal that goes between the engine block an pan, needs to be enlarged about a 1/16- 3/32" of an inch to fit around the pickup...
but other than that... it takes less than 30 minutes to install... and is SUPER easy.

It Fits, Its Just Tricky. You Get Your Pickup Installed Into The Bottom Of The Motor, Flipped 180 And Locked In With The New Locater. Then You Fit The Gate Onto The Motor, And Put The Pan On Last.

Our kit provides a way to lock the pickup in position so it wont move, plus the main and most important part of the kit creates a pool of oil around the pickup when the bike is verticle or leaned hard in fast circles. In a stock motor, all of the oil runs back into the transmission. If you hook up a guage, you will notice that even though you dont get a light, your oil pressure decreases significantly when on 1 wheel. This is not the case with our oil sump mods.
and cant the pickup be welded (or jb welded hehe) into place?
hope my 900 engine doesnt blow though..

Re: stuntex oil pickup??
wouldnt that sht crumble up, or dissolve? can it take the heat? sounds risky though..
today i took the mushroom shaped pickup out. i came up with 2 solutions:
1 take a tube (copper) with the same diameter as the stem of the pickup, transfer the ring and rubber that holds it in place to the pipe, and bend the pipe at a 90 degree angle towards the back of the pan.
2 weld the pickup shut, drill a hole in the back part and weld a small pipe on it that faces the back of the pan
whadda ya think?
