Re: brake bleed

I know how to do it by hand, but i have gone through sooo much fluid and i still have to hit the hand brake hard to get it to work. it worked fine until i switched the clipon. i bleed it up top and on the rim.

any advise would be great

Re: brake bleed

start from the top and work your way down. i pump the brake until i get some pressure, then i hold the brake lever down- now loosen the bleeder and re tighten it-- and then let the brake out. and repeat. make sure to have the lever full compressed when loosening the bleeder or air will get in the lines. if it feels like the brakes arent engaing correctly, then you arent doing it right. i leave the top of the cylinder off the entire time, so you can add fluid.

first use the bolt at the top of the line, then work your way down the line til you get to the bleeder on the tire, this way you can be sure you dont have any air stuck at the top of the line.

every bleeder bolt. i dont know if you are doing the rear or the front. but you need to bleed the top bolt, then the one at the master and then the bleeder on the wheel for the rear.

maybe try to put the cap on the resivior everytime you put fluid in, ive had to do that before to get air bubbles out.

try messing with the bolt that goes into the master cylinder. move the nut up and it will make it spongy, moving it down will make it harder.....or at least thats what i think it will do. look at if, its self explanitory.

the post you quoted me on, im talking about the rear brake mc.

i think you just arent bleeding the lines right. i get people that bring down their bikes saying they did everything exactly how i told them to do it, but it still didnt work. then i look at it for 5 mins and its fixed.
