Tank leaks at a crease

Is there a product on the market right now that will bond to my tank that wont react to gasoline. I have a very tiny hole where I had a crease when denting my tank. I have tried jb weld. It last a while untill it gets saturated with gas then starts to puff up then eventually cracks. Any help would be great.

Re: Tank leaks at a crease

ive put a very thick layer of Bondo on my tank and it never came thru, get all the gas off, sand it down a little and try a thick layer of JB kwik and let it dry for like an hour before you move the bike around letting gas hit it.

yeah, dont move the bike, clean the surface with brake cleaner(it drys w/out residue), slap some jb weld on it. Let it set up for a while, and somthing i found is if you let it cure for a while, you can wet your finger a little bit with water and smooth it out so it doesnt look as nasty. Let it cure overnight, then bondo over it.

i have used quik steel .
seems to work pretty good.
its like a clay, lay it on, let it dry, i put grip tape over it, and it seems to hold

Re: Tank leaks at a crease

thanks for the replies fellas. I have already tried jb weld though. I let it cure for a few weeks. My winter project was to paint my bike flat black. So I dented the tank. Jb welded that spot. Let it cure, then bondoed and painted. It lasted up untill now. I'm going to try the metal epoxy. Thanks again fellas

JB weld didn't work for me. same problem as you. I just welded it for real and it is stronger then ever.
