Re: Problems with Vortex cap...

Vortex gascap solved all my leaking problems.

I heard from other people if you use that rubber cement stuff you can fix it.

Re: Problems with Vortex cap...

I've not had any probs with mine. It actually holds a lot of pressure in, when I go to fill it up the top pretty much explodes off with all the pressure behind it. Sorry I can't be more help

Yea, I don't know. I guess I'll have to find a stock one again. Anytime I'm up at 12 or when I'm doing stoppies it always pours out. What a pain in the ***. Good way to burn about $70.

i bought one it leaks all over my ***** ,and burns. im going to try the cement puddy ,as for the lid not screwing on right all the bolts have to be tightened equally, the aluminum base will twist and the lid wont screw on right and leak .so just tighten all bolts equally till the cap screws on all the way ,hope i helped.

Re: Problems with Vortex cap...

I have one on my 750 and it solved leaking problems I had. Thing is, is it leaking from the cap or from the base?

Could be leaking from the base so check everything and get a gasket seal to cover any open areas. You can do the same on the cap, just spread it extremely thin and let fully dry before putting back on.

Re: Problems with Vortex cap...

my buddy just bought a Vortex cap for his R6 and it leaked like crazy. The tank is all messed up anyway so we got ghetto and JB welded all around the outside of the cap. It doesnt leak any more but it looks like crap.
