Braking a bead, what tools do you guys use?

Alright guys, this is some thing we cant find any thing on, and were having a problem with. Up untill now we have been using a long board to jump on the tire to brake the bead, *the tire sits on a bucket* that works ok with motocross tires but for road race slicks its a pain in the @$$. so what my question to you guys is, what do you guys use to brake the beads on your tires, if you were going to change them. Have you ever found any tools that really work, or made your own? any help would be great.

I've seen the guys here use either a 2X4 or a shovel. With the shovel just position it so the metal shovel part is perpendicular to the floor and jump on it. It might work a little better than the 2X4.

oh yeah, you'll have to take the rotors off with this method though and set the tire flat on the floor.

1. Take the rotors off
2. Place a small towel on the ground to protect the rim
3. Place the rim on the towel
4. Run the tire over with a car/truck...whateverto break the bead

Sounds awful....but very easy and works great!!!

Don't forget do both sides!!!

2x4 and a vehicle

take the guts out of the valve stem and put the 2x4 on the closet to the bead and drive up with said vehicle

I've seen people run them over. Takes a lot of force to bust it, I'd get in good with a cool shop, and see if they'd let you use the machine for a few mins at a time when you need to change tires.
