broken intake

so, i wrecked ysterday, and cracked my intake. it's carbon fiber, and only on the left side of my 2000 gsxr 750.

there isn't a hole, it just a crack. i cover my bike, so i'm not worried about rain, but i can't afford new ones yet. not for a couple of weeks. can i use tub and tile caulk (sp?) and just let it sit for a few days to seal it up? or, is there a better suggestion yall can come up with.

would a fiberglass cover be a better choice? my friend can rig that up.

Re: broken intake

You don't need the intake tubes. Bike run fine without em. Just take it off or leave it in there until you get a new ones.

Re: broken intake

tee double-u oh thangs.
one, how do you make a streetfighter out of a gixxer? just take the farings off? or is there more. please inform me. i am intrigued

also, i can't afford 25 bucks. thanks for the offer though. besides, then i'd have one carbon fiber, and one without. it's just a thing i would notice, but still.

ooo, and one other thang, how do the intake tubes not matter? the air filter is infront of the tubes i thought, so when air is getting sucked in, evenly, from both sides. Now but a crack, after the air filter, wouldn't i be getting an odd reading to my o2 sensor? plus, i don't wanna get anything in there, i've heard that water in your engine is bad.

Re: broken intake

air filter is under the tank, in the airbox. The tubes are hollow, the mesh screen is only there so large crap doesnt get stuck in the intake and block it up, like a bird or a shoe.

Re: broken intake

Man just buy some black duct tape and give er....Does a fine job..Those ram tubes are the most brittle pieces on these gixxers..and if you plan on stunting that 750 alot you may as well get used to patching those tubes back together...

Cheers

Re: broken intake

that was actually what caused my crash, was in the middle of a turn, and hit a dead bird on the road.

the neat thing is i have all kinds of battle damage. like a hole in my knee. ( i can see bone), and bruises. second wreck in four months, and both sucked. this one is making me get armored pants though. i mean, come on. i try stunts, and no crashes, i turn a damned corner and whammo.

Re: broken intake

corners are for squids?? if i wanna go anywhere to DO wheelies, i need to turn at least 1 corner. sorry i don't live in a motorcycle utopia.

PS, if anyone checks this, how can i turn a gsxr into a streetfighter? is it possible? do you just remove the fairings, or is it more intense
