Re: subframe broke on 04 gsxr 750

Up until about a week ago I lived NEXT DOOR to willow spring raceway. I spent most of my time there talking with the racers and trying to pick up bits of advice here and there. I can tell you WITHOUT A DOUBT that the new gixxers, just like MOST of the 04 and newer race bikes, are using thinner lighter materials to shave weight. With power plants being almost equal for HP in the last couple of years it has come down to weight and rider skill. These bikes were NOT made to be stunted or even wheelied. So the strengh of the subframe beyond the ability to hold the rider is NOT the manufactureres concern. If you buy a RACING sub, it will almost certainly be even WEAKER than the stock because it is built to save even MORE weight. Your best bet is some good steel welding reinforcement on an OLDER model sub frame. The only 04 or 05 that has a stronge sub is the CBR1000RR. And from what the racers told me, that thing is pretty much glued to the ground by its swingarm design and weight placement.
Hope any of this at least sheds some light on the problem.

Re: subframe broke on 04 gsxr 750

manufacturers need to simmer down with the race thing and start building bikes that are better for stunts.

1) stock 55 tooth sprocket with programmed speedo from the factory
2) strong *** frame and subframe
3) strong *** fork seals and fairing stay
4) motor made for being vertical
5) comes with a factory crash cage
6) dented tank
7) rear handbrake
8) rims that will never crack or bend

Use 1/4"X1" flat steel stock from home depot.
Use 5/8" allthread from with some flat and cut washers to bolt through your swingarm pivot bolt. Put a bolt through the side to the passenger peg mount and 2 through the 12 bar and into the subframe. Weld 1 piece of steel from 1 side to the other underneath. Just build it to look like the pics, and your troubles are over....

Good luck
Man u guys should market and sell that **** ill buy one

Re: subframe broke on 04 gsxr 750

2003 2004 gsxr 1000 subframe directly interchanges on 04-05 600 and 750. Its not cast **** metal either-its tubular welded-much stronger!
