Here is the best advice your gonna get ok,,ready.
Step one Do a little bit of homework, figure out what bikes have the qualities your looking for, such as, do you want inverted forks? Are you a speed demon? Do you like twisties? So forth. Think about where your gonna ride (be realistic too) everyone wants to ride 400 miles out somewhere every weekend but most of the time it don't happen. Are you more interested in a powerhouse engine or a long lasting one? (think about your budget)
Step two, write down some actual questions and then get on this site and ask actual owners.
Examples, How is the trottle control on your _________? Do you find this bike easy or hard to_____________? and so on.
Step three (this one is improtant, ok) Go to the dealerships and put your azz on a few of them. Here is why, You could have the best bike ever made (not that there is one) but hypothetically, you could have the best bike ever and if you are not comfortable sitting on it and riding it, well, your gonna suck.
example: when I bought my 954 it was actually my 3rd choice but after sitting on the R1 and the Gixxer I decided the 954 was best suited for me, know what? I was right.
Don't just go asking what should I buy, cause we don't know you and don't know your riding style or if you even have one or what your build is like so on and so on.
