front end wiggle

n eed some input.. 03 954RR... if i get up to like 40 or so and let the bars go.. bike ahs a bit of a wiggle in the front end (bars get slightly shakey) i grab them again while the bike is slowin down some let go again and the dont shake.. i dont know if i need to get the front aligned or what. but my bars are kind of stagard. left one is a tad forward from the right. and the clip ons are not bent.
anyone knwo waht to do.. or know how much a front end alignment is??

Re: front end wiggle

my bike does that, i dont have bar end weights on my bike, and I also dont run a stabalizer. With my old bars I filled them with bullets and it didnt shake when I let it go. try filling your clipons with lead shot or somthing.

Re: front end wiggle

it does that cause your front tire is either cupped or out of balance. if its in decent shape, just get it balanced. also you got a bike, not a station wagon. you cant just whip into auto tire and get a "front end alignment".

check to make sure your forks arent bent

Re: front end wiggle

yeah check your front tire if it is about wore out then it will cause wobble when you let go of the bars.

Re: front end wiggle

954's are notoriously twitchy up front. I think Honda was a little neglegent not to put a stock damper on them. I'd say to check the front tire too but it's probably just starting something that wouldn't be a problem on another bike. If you bought the bike new and it hasn't been wrecked the front is prolly fine but front tires seem to wear on the left side more so that's prolly it.

Re: front end wiggle

Some bikes just wobble, front light bikes like yours. Check the front end out to be sure and just put a dampr on it.
