Question Gixxer 600... Can I?

Here's the deal. I'm in the market for a new bike. It will be an all around bike.. my street bike and my stunter in one. I've pretty much decided to go with the gixxer. I had a 750 as a stunter before and loved it. In my searches I have found numberous 600's for cheap. My question is this... is it an acceptable stunt bike? I don't want to gear the **** out of it since it will be my street bike as well. But I still want to be able to do highway spreaders and stuff. Should I hold out and hope for a good deal on a 750 or 1k? or say fuggit and rock the 600? Or should I stop being a glammer ***** and get a honda? If I do get a 600... what gearing should I roll with? I'm thinkin -1 +5 or maybe +8. I want to keep most of my streetablility. I've never made a poll before so I'll go ahead and add one. Please vote and leave a reason or suggestion. Thanks for the input.

Re: Gixxer 600... Can I?

I say get a 750 and just go like 1 down, and like 3 up. Don't need to do anything drastic...

Re: Gixxer 600... Can I?

I wanna be able to rip stuff up with relative ease... and not have to go to another set again when I get good enough to rock slow stuff.

Slikz, got a reason for your poll vote? Thanks doodle.. I'll look into the scooters..

I've been searching around, reading posts ( a bunch that are similar to mine but not quite). Everyone LOVES the F4i's. I know this. But I like the look of the gixxers better. Other than oil pickup problems and somewhat weak subframes whats so bad about the gixxer?

Nothing, brace the subframe and your good. and they don't have oil pickup problems.....mine's been stunted hard for a year and the light doesn't even come on, just over fill 1/2 quart

Re: Gixxer 600... Can I?

give in to wings I just got an F4i and I havnet gotten to stunt it yet but everyones pumped me up both from this site and locally...even been told "its the best stunt bike period" Plus i was worried about power for a while too I wanted to get a 750 or a liter bike cuz i really wanna hit spreaders but ppl made me aware that spreaders are no problem for an F4i even on stock sprockets. ive even eard of doing circles on stock gearing on F4i's. I plan on doing it"old school" and stunt without gearing my bike at all.

As for looks...yea the gixxers look better but hey the F4i dont look too bad at all to me.

Re: Gixxer 600... Can I?

What exactly is it that makes the F4i so much better? Anyone stunt both? Have reasons that they like one more than the other?

Re: Gixxer 600... Can I?

Everyone I know that owns a Gixxer 6 has had to replace a motor. It was either the tranny destroying itself (2nd and 3rd gear) or oil problems. And one friend had a clutch basket blow up on his 750. Gixxers are OK, but I dont like the throttle response, its too jerky, and I hate the huge tank and the stretched out ergo's.

Schwarts - that this is hooked up bro!

Re: Gixxer 600... Can I?

I've only ever ridden my buddies 600rr. thats the only honda I've ever been on. It was definately hell-a smooth though. I'm guessing the F4i would be about the same. I'm actually startin to like the F4i's the more I read about them and look at them. I guess we'll have to see whats available around here. Anyone lettin an F4i go?

Same here, I had nothing but problems with my 01 750. Burned stators out like it was its job. I didn't have oil picked mod and went through 2 motors. My buddies run 02 600's and besides the sub frame they haven't had many problems, they've gone through a few motors just because they completely destroy bikes on a daily basis. I'd never get another zuk as a stunt bike.

I looked into them. Yea they're great for stunting but they're hard to come by and pretty pricey when I do. Still a possibility though. I'm leaning more towards the F4i now though....

Re: Gixxer 600... Can I?

600's are Pimp stunt bikes!!! Gear it and rock out! They only time power is an issue is for faster stuff, highway HC's and stuff. And it's still doable on a six. gix 6 is what im rockin now, geared -2 +13 and still killin the highway and fast stuff
