04 gsxr

Anyone stunting an 04 gsxr 750, 1000, 600 ? ? what are you guys doing about the crappy junk subframes. My buddy has one and when ever he hits 12's it snaps like a twig. He had to buy another so if anyone knows how to prevent it from breaking again, please share your info. Anything? Post pics if you have too. Racing 905 even reinforced it for him and it still broke in another spot. Thanks

Re: 04 gsxr

A shop here near daytona built a custom t-6 aluminum subframe for a friend of mine, and re-enforced it to the frame.

Re: 04 gsxr

how much did it cost. Racing 905 made a custom subframe out of billet aluminum and welded it to the origional mounts. But they said that it wont hold because the two different metals arent compatable to be welded together. I guess the origional subframe is made out of the same stuff they make airplanes with.

Re: 04 gsxr

My friend built a custom steel subframe for his gixxer 1000 -04 and I think it came out nice. It looks like the stock one with plastics on and is much stronger than the original. It took him like two days to weld it but I think it's worth the time. Only bad side is the extra weight

I got a 929--but somebody post up a pic of the gixxer where the swingarm meets the frame...maybe you can make something like this:

Re: 04 gsxr

My sub has cracked numerous times--and after i put this bar on its SOLID. Got all the stuff from Home Depot. You just need to find a spot to mount it--I used the pivot hole going through the frame that holds the swingarm and then mounted up in the original holes where the rear passenger footpegs are....

Re: 04 gsxr

yeah racing 905 already makes thos supports for a ton of bikes. That didnt help. It just made the frame crack in certain places. They are paper thin subframes. Hey whoever said their friend built a custom subframe, Ask him how much to make another? Thanks for the info guys.

Re: 04 gsxr

Trust me, theres almost no beefing that thing up. have you seen one? I just read on the stunt discussion forum that you could put a 2003 subframe on it as long as you do a coulple mods.
