Stock Footpegs

Do most of you guys still use stock footpegs? One of my friends just had a rear peg break off (luckly at a very slow speed). Is this a fluke or is this common?

was it the peg that broke or was it teh bolt? as far as i know the yamahas have the problem with the bolts brakeing.it had happend to a few of my friends. everyone just changes the bolts to a grade 8 bolt to solve that problem.

Re: Stock Footpegs

i run woodcraft rearsets. look nice and super strong, especially for the krapasaki 636.

www.woodcraft-cfm.com

i like them bc they are sturdy and dont snap off or snap in half....1 and half years of stunting and havent broke any yet...knock on wood.

2003 gsxr-750. My friend who broke it was on a 96 900rr. I have never had a problem with mine while riding, but I have broken one (pretty easily) while trying to bend it back into place - not a drastic bend either!

Re: Stock Footpegs

I got some lockhart phillips pegs on stock rearsets. I kept breaking the stock pegs.

Stock Pegs = $79
Lockhart phillips pegs = $22
Stock rearsets = $20
Race rearsets = $349

Its not hard to figure the mix and match on that.

Re: Stock Footpegs

I use LP pegs and they seem to hold up fine and havent broke yet. they are cheap as hell like 25 bucks, so it wouldnt dent you wallet if you broke them every once in a while

Re: Stock Footpegs

I think hes talking about the rear passenger pegs. I've heard of it too many times for it to be a fluke. I'm going to make a steel plate with a BMX peg on it.

Re: Stock Footpegs

I was wondering the same thing about stock rear pegs, because on my 94 900RR they kinda flex when i stand on them. Are they strong? That would really suck to be up in a wheelie, and have one of them snap!!!

Re: Stock Footpegs

anyone use dirtbike pegs?
there are a few people in my town that have them on all 4 pegs.
they say that dirt bike pegs are alot stronger, and are made to withstand people landing big jumps, so they should hold up on our stunt bikes

just a thought
