I use an angle grinder now, the right tool for the job. Before I had one, I would use a bench grinder and hold it next to the chain.

i was tryin to break ity with a screw driver and a hammer for like 30 min, borke 3 screw drivers

3 links!??! how the hell did you destroy 3 of the links when you used a hacksaw?lol oh well, atleast you got it off and didn't pay $30 to not learn anything.

I tried hammering at it after I cut it halfway and I damaged the nearby links.. prolly shouldn't have used a sledgehammer. hmm.. ahwell It was fun though..
