Somewhat simple wheelie question
I searched but couldn't find a good match for this question.
When you give it gas to wheelie, whether clutching it or powering it, do you crack the trottle to a specific point and hold it, or twist it variably as it comes up to the point where you have it balanced?
It would seem that a bike would act more predictably if you just clutched, twisted, and held the throttle at some point, let the bike react and bring you up to balance, then back off/make adjustments with throttle/break at that point.
It seems when I wheelie, and accelerate as the front comes up, it comes up to quickly, whereas if I just clutch it and hold the throttle at some RPM it rises more predictably.

pretty much when your in the balance point you have to adjust the throttle,or like you said the brake.you can go for mile off throttle alone but always keep your brake covered and ready to use it.

Clutch it up, then keep rollin on the throttle to get it to BP... unless you whack the clutch too hard and bring it up or past bp. Then make sure you got that brake covered! It comes naturally just from riding. You know what you have to do... now go do it...

Yeah, Just quit thinkin about it and go do it, it will come naturally with practice. There is no set rpm to hold it at to get it to balance point, you just bring it up untill you hit BP, then you let off the gas for the most part, and just kinda feather the gas to keep it balanced. You shouldn't even be looking at your RPM's, just listen and feel. I have no idea what rpm i do anything at, i just am used to my bike so i can hear it and feel it... thats how i know. Just practice and soon you will be doing it naturally.
