Help with Video stuff

1. In adobe Premier we are compressing a 5 minute video which is originally abround 1 GB down to around 30 mb, and it is what I would consider low-mid quality. I see alot of high quality video on here around that size. Is there a seperate program your using to get videos compressed??

2. Premier will NOT let us import .mov quicktime files. Do you know of software that will convert .mov to .avi OR .mpg??? I have tried a few freebies from www.download.com and have had no luck. Either they just don't work, or will leave a watermark on the video.

Any help is appreciated! I have the 5 minute video ready to go, but I would like to add some of the quicktime format stuff to it.

Thanks.
