Re: I think i f'ed up?

There isnt any way i could re-connect that lid is there? Just a thought since i dont have the money at all to be buying a new tank. The pieces can be lined up but im sure as hell not touching it with a welder.

Re: I think i f'ed up?

Take a welder to it!!

hahaha... j/k DONT DO IT!! I'd look on E-bay, or something I found recently, go to cycleforums.com/ or cbrworld.net/ or whatever, look for people that have wrecked and PM them!! Alot of people wont advertise busted stuff, but have it laying around, and sell it cheap!

Good luck!

Re: I think i f'ed up?

um jb weld and lots of it. if u fraid itll drip into ur tank then get a thin piece of aluminum and bend it to fit around the split then seal it with jb weld. if ur a stunna u gotta get more creative..if sumthing brakes you dont get a new one or fix it.......you modify it..lol

Re: I think i f'ed up?

well good to know it will work if i try it thanks alot guys. I was just worried how it would stand up to the abuse of my fat *** (not really fat).

Now i know i got a buncha junk in my tank... probably scrap the gas and clean out well right? Damn i had close to a full tank in that bish. its damn near touching the top of the tank now that its dented lol

Re: I think i f'ed up?

I would put some quicksteel inbetween the tank and gas cap, and then seal it off with jbweld cause jbweld tends to stick better without busting off, it's also harder go fill large spaces with and it's very thin.

Re: I think i f'ed up?

man **** the jb weld job that will be a part time fix, you dont want it to break off out on a ride out in the middle of nowhere, or during a wheelie..ya that would suck
take the tank to a body shop or anyone that has experice doing body work, they will cut it out and weld the whole thing back together, paint it yourself
and it will look shiney fukin new and you will never be able to tell it was ever broken

all that for less than the price you will find a used one on ebay

screw you

yeah i didnt think it was possible for it to split like that, was quite dissapointed when it did.

I know what your saying about the JB weld bein a temp fix. Thats why i was worried about trying it. It'd really suck *** if it busted open one day and there im stuck. I think ill try the JB weld and if that doesnt work the body shop idea is good too.
