Sprocket material?

What material are speockets made of? I have a turner workshop where they can make me custom sprocket, but they asked what material...

Aluminum or steel, aluminum is lighter but not as durable as steel.

I think it's not so simple.
There are many sorts of aluminium- It's almost never pure aluminium so it depends what's there besides aluminium.
You have to chose the wright one, light and strong enugh for bike use.

Theres differant ones..Theres steel, aluminum, and chromoly.

T-6 (i think that it's aluminum)

**** try stainless steel... that will be very durable...
