Sprockets, the finer details
Ok i said i wanted to learn on stock gears but i was wondering if it was worth mayb dropping 1 in the front for now and move on from there??? Its a learning point obviously and it comes down to timing and technique obviously, but would like it to be a little easier while im still learning. Tell me what ya think, yeh, or ney. Who to talk to about getting sprocket/chain and any other advice you might want to pass onto a newbie wanna be stunter

Re: Sprockets, the finer details
the only reason not to gear is gearing makes the throttle harder to control which is a ***** when trying to learn to wheelie. If you race or have throttle control down gear it. It's alot easier on your clutch with gears.

Yeah dude either +4 or -1 would be good to give you that extra punch. -1 and +4 are pretty much the same thing, 4 on the back is worth like 1 on the front if I remember right. So either one will do. My '99 GSXR750 is just +2 on the back, not much, but it does help, it's good for me too seeing as I'm pretty new to the game. But yeah, if I were you I'd prolly go -1 just because it's cheaper.

Re: Sprockets, the finer details
see I started with stock gearing to learn my wheelies. after I got them down tight I went -1 & +7 on a 03 R-6 to start 2nd and 3rd gear spreader and hc. It alot more fun

Re: Sprockets, the finer details
I have a 98 gixxer 750. Started wheelies with stock sprocket. Then went up +2 in the rear with a new AFAM sprocket. For a while I was cool with my clutch lever needing almost two hands to operate. Got used to it from all the chicken chokin. Now I havent been riding as much and I cant stand it. Is there a easy way to adjust the tension for the lever or does the cable need to be replaced?
P.S. This is one of the best webs Ive been on. Keep up with the info!
