96 cali edition 900rr

I heard that the 96 900 rr has some emision stuff that i could take out, any idea what parts i could take out? and i am having vacum problems, Getting no gas to the carbs. i checked the pit ****, no problem there. Some one told me i dont have a fuel pump on this bike, is that right? what should i check? thanks for the help

Some cali emmisions bikes have air pipes that are in the front of the head by where the exhaust bolts up. take all that **** off if thats what you got. all it does is put fresh air in the exhaust so it burns cleaner, makes the bike run hot as hell too. Also carb cali bikes are jetted leaner too, see what the plugs look like after you get it running and ride it a little.
As far as not getting fuel,no, no fuel pump on that *****, just a simple gravity system. sometimes the small vac line to the petcoc gets soft and collapses under vacume, replace that, if that dont work try running the bike without the tank like a fuel bong. The vent in your tank could be clogged not allowing the fuel to flow out of it. The gas cap could be it too!

If ALL this checks out ok then (which is unlikely) the needle and seat valves attached to the floats in the carbs could be stuck that would mean they are all stuck closed though wich would be something to take a picture of..
