Just toss your self up there...every bike is going to be slightly differnet just like every other trick out there. You can either fake it by putting your elbows into your chest or power it up there with just arm strength. Nothing gets a crowd going like a handstand though...

Re: Info on handstands?

What gear are you in and how fast are you going?

Gloves vs No Gloves? Wouldnt want your hands to slip off the tank, your face plant into the triple clamp and knock your *** out or anything...

How do you practice them at first? Put the bike on front and rear stands and try doing it stationary?

What do you feel yourself balancing as youre in a handstand?

Re: Info on handstands?

I also want to learn these... ive somewhat attempted them riding but couldnt get myself up... but after practice on flat ground i can get up to the handstand position. Im just worried about balacing/wind when im doing it on a bike.

And Redline i think im in love with your bike love the paint scheme and the frame is lookin sweet now too

Re: Info on handstands?

ahhh i know the man retired, but didnt know he sold the bike. **** i woulda kept it to just be a street bike... but then again we all know what would happen if we took out our old stunt bike. We'd have the front end in the air within the first 2 miles of riding lol.

Re: Info on handstands?

damn RLjimmy you got those handstands on lock! looks like your tank is dented but its hard to tell since dubs have such a flat top- i put nice ridges on the sides of my tank in hopes gettin good grip for handstands

Thanks for the additional pix, but my questions are still largely unanswered...

Re: Info on handstands?

Dude I'm very new to all of this and I in no way have them "on lock" or anything but I'll try to give you some tips. Try them a bit on the ground first just to get the hang of the balance part of it. To practice it on the bike first have a couple strong buddys come over and hold the bike upright while you try it out, this is the safe way to start out IMO. Then pretty much just do what you see in the picture. Put your elbows into your ribs and then lift yourself up there. Also you can put the chin of your helmet on the wind screen or something to help balance you. Some people do it other ways too like where you actually put the top of your helmet into the seat, although I guess that would be called more of a head stand or w/e. Some guys do it from a switch back too, so you can change it up quite a bit, just find which way you feel best at. Then to take it out to the pavement, I'd go prolly around, IDK, 25 mph or so. Yes I would wear ridding gloves, but that's just me. Wear your gear and be safe. Ummmm, yeah... Rock on!

Peace.
