if done right TIG is stronger. but this is for thinner metals, 1/8 wall is about the thickest i would use a TIG for. MIG is ugly no matter what, nothing looks better than a TIG.
and for the guys that said all cage companies use a MIG this is false as well. we now use a TIG.

i arc welded mine. looks good, very strong. and yeah explosion welding will weld steel to aluminum. but first you have to find someone that does it. and its expensive as hell, think about it, if you snap the subframe(wich happens alot) then you have to try and cut the 12 bar off or build another instead of just unbolting it and switching it over
