i am gearing my bike down -1 in the front +14 in the back is that too much too ride the streets and highway

my r1 is -1 +13 and its ok for the hyway, great for the parking lots. but i think i need to go down to 6+ in the back. my top speed is 115-130 6th gear redline. i ride only about 3 miles one way to get to work and back home. long trips might not be good for the motor.

You are going to lose mad top end. My boy maxes out around 120 on a GIX 750.

i know i am gonna loose top end but i don't care i aint out to run no 10sec 1/4 mils or race anyone i just wanna ride around town and pull some weelies and ****...... so u think it will be ok riding around the streets you know doin the speed limit (for the most part)
the reason i am going that extream is so when in parkinglots and stuff i can still rock :YEAH those SLOW 12's and all that

hate to break it too ya but gearing wont help all that much for 12's....if ur just learning that **** then there is no reason to gear ur **** yet, atleast not that much. wat kind of bike is it?

it's a 98 yzf600r (not the r6)

so..... learn close to stock plus 3 or 5 stock then gear it.
