Re: Sprocket for slow wheelies

I'm -2 +6 on an 01 750, works well for both street and slow stuff, although you won't out run any cops. I will admit that the better I get the more I like a stock setup, however for learning slow stuff stock is not ideal.

What are you talking about. you can do slow stuff with stock gearing. It's pimp

Re: Sprocket for slow wheelies

lol, I run -1 +18 on a '00 Gix 750.. my top speed is about 150 kms... not too sure what that is in miles.. I think 60 miles is 100kms.. so about 90 miles/hr.
I like it a lot. You can put that bitch in 6th and let out the clutch and it'll roll like it was in first with stock gearing. You'll end up shifting a lot more, but it's fun.. I didn't really like my stock gixxer.. I'd ride around all day in first gear.. it would max out at like 130kms. Kinda boring..

When you're ready.. Phil @ www.moto-heaven.com The only way to go. Just tell him what you need.

Re: Sprocket for slow wheelies

I've seen Clinc rollin' no-handers and circles with stock gears in Kyle PBZ's 636 when it was brand new, and I'm geared -2+25 on my 900RR, so its basically whatever you prefer. I'de recomend going up about 16 in the rear for starters.

Re: Sprocket for slow wheelies

I am getting really into slow wheelies, and am about to get a sprocket, but am not sure on which one. I have a 94 900RR with -1 in the front and its not enough for the really slow stuff. I want either the 58 tooth rear or the 64. Im not gonna be able to ride highway i realize, but which should i get? How much of a diffrence will 6 teeth really make when your already up 14 teeth? (thats assuming i got the 58)

Re: Sprocket for slow wheelies

Stock is pimp, bigger really helps. Below Stock!!, i dunno about that. I did see a video with that guy in it and he is pretty dang good. Eventually i will go up in the rear, but i figure, if you can get it all down with a stock sprocket, then you can go up in size to make things easier.

Re: Sprocket for slow wheelies

Yeah, if you can learn everything with stock sprockets, then thats awesome. Your right, it would be mad easy to do your sticks once you learned them and THEN upgraded.Technically thats what your supposed to do, but i just dont feel like waiting. I cant ride super slow stuff with stock gearing, and that what i really want to get into. If i try to learn 12's on stock gearing im gonna eat $h!t going fast ... i know im gonna fall, so i mine as well be able to rock em slow (wont hurt quite as bad). lol I guess its all in what you want. :YEAH
